Pampady Children’s Village

Kerala Christ Church Mission launched a Children’s Village ministry in 2003 to provide destitute children with food, shelter, clothing, healthcare, education and the love of Christ. It is currently home for 55 children.

THE NEED IS GREAT
At least 32 million are destitute in India – the poorest of the poor. Destitution can overtake a child in various ways. Many are orphaned by the death of parents. Others are abandoned or have parents in extreme poverty unable to provide for their children. Others experience domestic violence where the community decides to remove them from the home. Regrettably the need increases.

A HOME ATMOSPHERE
The Children’s Village consists of several “homes” within its facilities – each one with a “mother” who is responsible for a group of children. Many of the mothers and most of the Village staff have at one time been destitute themselves and can relate well to the children. Director Liz Gabriel holds a PhD degree in Social Work enabling her to capably oversee the entire Village ministry.

Currently the Village has three homes for girls and one for boys. Additionally, it has served as a Christ-centered home for 60 other children who, over time, have graduated from school, advanced to college or returned to their families as situations improved.
